Green Technology

The latest trend in
technology is going green. Here is a red flag for the IT firms that are
taking too long to embrace the green concepts. Many seminars, CRS
activities, discussions
and conferences keep coming up and gaining popularity amongst heads in this industry.
There are numerous plans in the
direction and implementation approaches being taken by
different organizations.
The use of eco friendly approaches has been a thing being
encouraged for a long time
now. It is however ignored by most individuals and companies that might just be forced to
embrace green technology
concepts if they intend to stay long in the current markets. There
are basics that can be taken by companies to keep their eco consumption low and
negative
environmental effects controlled.
By the use of E services, there is a need to do away with the use of papers. This in turn
saves
trees and gives the environment peace of mind. It is however, an approach slowly taken by
corporate heads, who still view the difficult
ends of embracing this approach. An approach
is however, being positively taken by the organizations that may not be so concerned about
the
environment but want to cut on printing costs.
When a laptop, mobile tablet has Gen Y, the eco friendly efforts of going paperless become
a
reality. This is with no regard to the reasons as to why a company may resort in tacking
this line, the end-result would still be less cut down
trees for paper and a salvation to the
environment. It is to the advantage of the company as it would be taken seriously in its
efforts to
maintain an eco- friendly community in a practical, convenient and convincing
manner.
The IT community is all inclined to seeing a change in
their processes. These are efforts dully
taken by major IT companies like Sony, HP, Samsung, Epson and Canon. They are trying all
they can to
get eco friendly solutions for their products. This results in a huge reduction
of carbon footprints and a capture of the environmentally concerned
customer base and
community.
Printing needs in organizations need to be re-strategized. The usage of papers for
newsletters and the like
should be streamlined and procedures put in place to have them
minimized completely. Paper usage should be downed and this cannot just be achieved
by
use of green products, the papers that have been used can be recycled for reuse. Companies
can resort to the distribution of e-magazines, e-
newsletters, e-brochures among others as
an effort toward cutting down on the usage of papers.
Enlightenment of end users is also necessary.
People need to be educated about little
aspects like the importance of reducing fuel and energy consumption. Clients can be
educated on the
paperless policy, need to print only very essential documents, and
switching off PC when not being used. When people are adequately educated on the
need
of embracing green technologies, other aspects become much easy to take up.
