What is B2B?
"B2B" stands for “Business to Business” and refers to the practice of businesses selling and marketing to other businesses rather than to the public or a general consumer. B2B generally refers to online marketing but can also refer to offline marketing and sales. Many organisations have both B2B and B2C (Business to consumer) components, but some companies specialise in B2B services or sales.
One leading ground for the popularity of B2B sales and services is the great volume. An customer may visit a clothing manufacturer's website and order one or two products. However the buyer for a large chain of may order 3,000 of each item to then sell on in their stores. It is necessary for the manfacturer to have a B2B component, so as not to lose out on these lucrative sales. This is why many companies provide B2B options alongside the B2C offerings at their websites and other outlets.
